Gateway is the signature project in a decade-long partnership involving The Ohio State University and the
City of Columbus to improve the quality of life in the urban neighborhoods known collectively as the
University District. Neighborhood civic leaders, Ohio State students, faculty and staff, business and
property owners, and other community members have participated actively in the planning and
implementation of numerous projects to improve municipal services, enhance public safety, renovate housing, and promote
revitalization.
Campus Partners for Community Urban Redevelopment, a non-profit redevelopment corporation
established by Ohio State in 1995, has spearheaded the neighborhood planning and revitalization efforts.
Campus Partners is the developer of South Campus Gateway. Campus Partners employed Jones Lang LaSalle as
the development management advisor and Turner as the construction management advisor during the
development and construction phases of Gateway. Elkus/Manfredi Architects of Boston designed Gateway.
Campus Partners has employed CB Richard Ellis to manage Gateway since its opening.
South Campus Gateway is an important strategic investment in the larger revitalization plan for the
University District. Gateway will bring new vitality to High Street the "Main Street" of Columbus and
the University District and will better serve students, university employees, neighborhood residents,
alumni and visitors.
